In the name of God Amen the twenty seventh Day of November in the year o f our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred I George Hathorthwaite of Quermoo r in the County of Lancr Husbandman being weak of body but of perfect m ind & Memory praised be to God Do make and Ordain this my last Will & T estament in manner & form following First and principally I bequeath m y Soul into the Mercifull Hands of Almighty God and my Body to the Grav e and as for such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless m e in this Life I Give Devise and bequeath the same in manner & form fol lowing First I Give Devise and bequeath to my loving Wife Jennet Hath ornthwaite All and Singular my Goods Chattells & personal Estate whatso ever She paying there out to my Daughter Mary Hathornthwaite the sum of T wenty Pounds As also I Give Devise and bequeath to my said Wife Jennet A ll &Singular my Messuages Lands Tenements & Hereditamts whatsoever to b e by her peaceably possessed for & during the term of her natural Life a nd from & immediately after her Decease I Give Devise & bequeath All my a foresaid Lands Messuages Tenements and Hereditamts whatsoever and all m y full & whole Estate right Title and Interest in the same to my Daught ers Mary Hathornthwaite & Dorothy Rigmaiden Wife of Thomas Rigmaiden of L ancaster and to their heires & assignes for ever if they be then living But in case one of my said Daughters Mary or Dorothy dye before my sa id Wife Jennet leaving Issue of her Body lawfully begotten then it is m y Will & mind and I doo hereby Give and bequeath all my said Lands & Te nements as follows – One halfe of my said Lands & Tenements to my Daugh ter which shall then be living at the Decease of my said Wife and to he r heires for ever And the other halfe to the Child or Children of the o ther of my Daughters which shall then be Dead and to his her or their h eires for ever Or if it shall so happen that both my said Daughters s hall Dye before my Wife leaveing Issue of both their Bodys lawfully beg otten Then I Give and bequeath my Lands & Tenements as follows One ha lfe to the Child or Children of the Body of One of my said Daughters an d to his her or their heires for ever and the other Halfe to the Child o r Children of the other of my said Daughters and to his her or their he ires for ever Or if it shall so come to pass that one or both of my sai d Daughters Dye before a Division of my said Lands be made Then my Will & M ind is and I Give & bequeath my said Lands & Tenements in like manner O ne half to the Child or Children of such my deceased Daughter and to hi s her or their heires forever And the other half to the other of my sa id Daughters which shall survive and to her heires Or if both Dye then t o the Child or Children of my said Daughters and their Heires Equally t o be Divided betwixt the Child or Children of one of my said Daughters a nd the Child or Children of the other of my said Daughters and to the h eires of Each respectively They my said Daughters their Heires or Assi gns paying to my son John Hathornthwaite the sum of Twenty Pounds to be r aised out of my said Lands from & after the Death of my said Wife And l astly I make my said Wife Jennet sole Executrix of this my last Will he reby revokeing all Wills by me heretofore made Witness my hand & Seal t he Day& Year first above written:
