In the Name of God Amen May the 29th in the year of our Lord one thousa nd seven hundred and sixty three I Anne Hathornthwaite of Claughton in t he County of Lancaster Widow being in good health considering my Age an d of Sound mind and disposing memory (thanks be to God for the same) do m ake this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following and fi rst it is my Will and Mind that immediately after my decease my Executo r hereafter named shall take into his custody and possession all my eff ects whether Ready Moneys Goods Chattels or other Credits to the Intent t hat he may thereout give me a decent Interment pay all my just Debts Fu neral Expenses and the Charges of the Probate of this my last Will and T estament and out of the Remainder and at the twelve months end next aft er my decease that he pay to my son Miles Hathornthwaite the sum of two s hillings and to my Daughter Mary now Wife of Robert Hathornthwaite the s um of one shilling which said sum I will that they and each of them sha ll receive in full of their respective shares or childs part of all my E ffects whatsoever  And it is my further Will and mind that my Executor s hall at the twelve months end next after my decease pay to my Daughter E llin or her Assigns the full sum of forty shillings of lawful British m oney which I order she or her Assigns shall receive in full of her shar e or child’s part of my said Effects and as to all the remainder it is m y Will and Mind that my Executor shall keep all the remainder in his Ha nds and Custody to the Intent he shall and may employ the same for the u se or uses of the Children of my son Miles Hathornthwaite as he my said E xecutor shall seem most necessary and so long as my said Executor shall h ave any such remainder in his Hand  And I hereby nominate and Appoint J ames Curtis of Barnaker Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testamen t hoping he will see this my last Will and Testament performed to the u tmost of his power and as my trust is in him reposed in Testimony where of I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the Day and year first within w ritten.

as her last Will and Testament in Sight
and presence of us who at her request
and in her presence have set our Names
