In the nom of god amen I Richard Mason do declar this to bee my las t will and testyment as foles and is of sound maind and deposing memery p resed bee god for the seme forst I will Just depts bee payd and feunera el expensis bee payd and other charges in proving this my will forst I g ive to my doughter Jenets children fifty pound to bee equily devaided a mongst them at thear mothers deseas and I give the intrest of it to the ar mother deuring her laif and if these children hapn to day I give it t o Alis and her children and I give to my grandoughter Elyn Hathornthwet t wenty pound when she atens to the edge of one and twenty years and my g rand sun William Hathrnthwet faiv shilin and I give to my doughter Alis s eventy pound and I give to my sun Jemes twenty pound and last I give to m y sun William all my affects but what is aboue mensind and if any part o f my afeckts bee lost the aboue legsteys to bear part of this los equil y according to thear legeseys and I apoynt my sun William whol exsecter o f this my will as witness my hand

First I will just debts be paid and fu neral expenses be paid and other charges in proving this my will. First I g ive to my daughter Janet’s children fifty pound to be equally divided a mongst them at their mothers desire? And I give the interest of it to t heir mother during her life and if these children happen to die I give i t to Alice and her children and I give to my granddaughter Ellen Hathor nthwaite twenty pound when he attains to the age of one and twenty year s and my grandson William Hathornthwaite five shillings and I give to m y daughter Alice seventy pounds and I give to my son James twenty pound s and last I give to my son William all my effects but what is above me ntioned and if any part of my effects be lost the above legacies to bea r part of this loss equally according to their legacies and I appoint m y son William whole executor of this my will as witness my hand)

Know all men by these presents that we William Mason of Scorton in the P arish of Garstang and County of Lancaster yeoman and James Mason of the P arish and County aforesd yeoman
Are holden, and firmly bound unto the Right Reverend Father in God Edmu nd by divine permission, Lord Bishop of Chester in four hundred pounds o f good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the said Right R everend Father or to his certain Attorney, his Executors, Administrator s, or Assigns;to which payment, well and truly to be made, We bind ours elves, and each of Us our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators firmly b y these Presents, sealed withour Seals, dated the twenty third Day of O ctober in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven Hundred and Fifty Fiv e
The Condition of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden Wil liam Mason the younger son and sole executor of Richard Mason late of S corton in the Parish of Garstang and County of Lancaster yeoman decease d shall and do well and truly execute, and perform the last Will and Te stament of the said Richard Mason Deceased; and do pay all his Debts an d Legacys, so far as his goods and personal Estate will extend, and the L aw shall bind him if also he do exhibit into Court a true and perfect I nventary of the said Deceased’s Goods and Personal Estate, and give a t rue and just Accompt of his acting in the Premises, when he shall be th ereunto lawfully called; That then this Obligation to be void, of else i n Force.
